Why the USA?
Caydon Principal Joe Russo began to plan US expansion in late 2015. He felt that we were outgrowing the Australian market, so began to explore opportunities in the US. Houston attracted him primarily because of the city’s business-friendly culture and lack of zoning. Seattle’s employment growth, particularly in leading tech industries, made the northern city appealing.
“I see a real, long-term business here,” Mr Russo told The Houston Business Journal. “Within the next five to 10 years, the majority of my developments will be here in the US.”
Our 27-level tower will be Midtown’s first high-rise luxury apartment complex and comprise 357 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments with shops and restaurants on the ground floor. Shared facilities will include a pool with swim-up bar, a gym, indoor and outdoor dining facilities and a dog park.
Seattle is one of the hottest real estate markets in the country. Water on one side and mountains on the other makes the city attractive, but means that land is limited and the only way to grow is up. Seattle is home to iconic companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Apple and Uber, and demand for rentals is high.
The 26 level development will include 226 condominiums with stunning views of Puget Sound, Lake Union and Cascade Mountains. Shared facilities and parking will be included.
