Joe Russo, Principal

Joe Russo started the Caydon team in 1999 and continues to be hands-on from concept to successful completion of every project. He is always one step ahead of the market in predicting new, desirable locations and makes the most of every viable opportunity presented to him.

Michael Sheehy, CFO

With 13-years experience as CFO of construction and development businesses Probuild and Dennis Family Corporation, Michael brings a wealth of experience to his role at Caydon. Prior to his appointment, Michael was CFO of Webjet Limited, an ASX Top 200 company. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a qualified company director.

US Derrek Lerouax

Derrek Lerouax, COO, USA

Derrek is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Construction Science. He also has a Master of Business Administration from The Bauer College of Business at The University of Houston. Prior to the recession, Derrek managed the construction of multiple projects with The Hanover Company. After the recession, he managed the construction of multiple projects for Trammell Crow Residential, and went on to develop three properties with Trammell Crow Residential.

Jarrod Stratton, COO, Australia

With 20 years experience in development and construction, Jarrod has been instrumental in delivering over 3,000 apartments across many high profile Melbourne projects. He is wholly involved in every Caydon project and his aspiration is to ensure Caydon apartments are built to enhance communities and help shape cities for years to come.

Brad Miller Capital Markets Manager

Brad Miller, Capital Markets Manager

Brad comes to Caydon with 18 years of experience in specialist global real estate finance, transactions and investments.

Brad spent the first 10 years of his career in London as a real estate finance lawyer ultimately with Clifford Chance, a leading global law firm. In 2010, Brad joined ADIA in Abu Dhabi as a Senior Transaction Manager, focusing on global real estate investment and finance. Returning to Australia in 2015, Brad became Head of Capital and Transactions at Grocon and a member of their Executive Team. Last year, he founded and became Managing Director of Range Capital – a specialist real estate advisory firm in Sydney.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Laws from Durham University in the UK and completed Law School the College of Law, London.

Andrew Jones, Project & Corporate Funding

Andrew has over 20 years of property development experience specialising in accounting, tax and finance. His primary responsibility is to procure project and corporate funding as well as to maintain efficient capital structures. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant, qualified Finance Broker and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Doug Pyne, General Counsel

Doug Pyne is General Counsel for Caydon USA and manages the legal needs of the US division. Prior to joining Caydon, Doug was Corporate Counsel for Whitestone REIT, a real estate investment trust located in Houston. His previous experience includes VP – Real Estate Law for Macy’s Department Stores and Senior Real Estate Counsel for RARE Hospitality, a restaurant company. Doug has 17 years of experience as an in-house counsel representing publicly traded companies and another nine years in private practice at law firms.

Giuditta De Santis, Director of Architecture and Design

Giuditta leads Caydon's in house Architecture and Design team. Her thorough and collaborative approach is accompanied by a creative flair that ensures a remarkable result across all projects. Guiditta's impressive experience includes over 10 years of local and international experience. Giuditta has a Masters degree in Architecture with First Class Honours.

Steve Williams, International Marketing Director

Steve has over 15 years senior management experience in marketing, brand and general management, delivering profitable growth across various consumer goods and commercial sectors. A versatile professional, Steve’s experience spans Fashion, FMCG, Liquor, Water, Agriculture and Property. He has strategically planned and managed key portfolios as well as marketing communication strategies for high profile brands and organisations.

Emma Alexander, Sales & Marketing Manager

Emma is responsible for the implementation of all project and corporate marketing across the USA. She is also Head of Sales for the US condominium project in Seattle and oversees the pre-leasing component for the Houston multifamily highrise. During her six years at Caydon, Emma has played an important role in 12 major projects and understands the development cycle.

Julia Strangio-McRae, People and Culture Director

Julia oversees the people and culture team at Caydon. She has a track record of driving cultural change in businesses that are transitioning from small to medium in size and presence. Julia prides herself on being instrumental in implementing foundations and structures to enable future business scalability.

Emily Thurston, Development Manager

Emily is a significantly experienced Development Manger, responsible for overseeing all aspects of design and construction for millions of dollars of capital projects throughout Houston. She was educated at the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Construction Engineering Technology. Included in Emily’s impressive resume are several assignments for the University of Houston and the Houston Methodist Hospital System. She has previously worked on residential and boutique hotel projects and this experience will be invaluable as we move ahead with our US projects.

Coy McKinney, Development Manager

During more than 25 years in the construction industry, Coy has worked on some very significant projects. Most recently, he was director of Multifamily Development at The Howard Hughes Corporation where he worked on an number of Master Planned Communities including among many other projects, The Woodlands, a 28,000-acre community and Bridgeland, a 12,000-acre community, in West Houston.

His most notable project was Houston’s Mosaic Towers – twin 30-story structures with 790 residential units, 20,000 square feet of retail and 1200 parking spaces. Coy served as Chairman of the Board for the Houston Chapter of the Construction Leadership Council and on its Steering Committee. He was twice nominated for Project Manager of the Year and teaches classes in Leadership and Ethics.

Lucas Sandidge, Assistant Development Manager

Lucas is the Assistant Development Manager for Caydon’s Seattle project overseeing all elements of the development and construction process. Lucas is also involved in the acquisition analysis, permitting, and design of new development opportunities across the US. Prior
to joining Caydon, Lucas served as an Army Officer and later began his career with Deloitte Consulting before joining AIG’s Commercial Mortgage ending team where he conducted financial and market analysis across all commercial property types. Lucas has a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Georgetown University.

Tony Basile, Construction Manager

Houston-based Tony Basile has more than 14 years’ experience building in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Multifamily and Healthcare developments feature heavily in his career, but projects also include flood mitigation, a fire station and a police station designed to withstand hurricane-force winds and serve as League City’s Emergency Operations Centre. Tony is an energetic and enthusiastic leader and mentor, and served on a national committee developing standard operating procedures and best practices for an integrated project management system.

Tim Slater, Design Manager


Tim joins Caydon following 12 years practicing architecture in New York City. His projects emphasized urban, mixed-use development incorporating elements of residential, commercial, retail, educational, and transportation uses and span design scales from urban design to construction detailing. In executing projects, Tim leverages Building Information Modelling (BIM) systems and stakeholder and small-team management. He is excited to join Caydon’s mission to enrich communities through intelligent design of urban places, a passion driven by Masters degrees in Architecture and in Urban and Environmental
Planning from the University of Virginia. 

Tim’s career is underpinned by his enlistment in the US Army after high school and by the continued support of his wife and two children.

Elliot Marks, Commercial and Acquisitions Manager

Elliot is a native Houstonian and a graduate of Emory University. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. Prior to joining Caydon, Elliot worked in politics in Texas, New York and Georgia. At Caydon, Elliot is responsible for overseeing all new project acquisitions as well as the development and leasing of retail spaces.
